Groin Skin Tags
Groin skin tags can be a very sensitive subject to many people who suffer from them. They worry about them being something more sinister and they worry about what their sexual partner will think. They fear that their partner will believe they have a sexually transmitted disease. Nothing could be further from the truth. Skin tags in the groin area (as well as on the rest of the body) are benign and harmless.
The groin area is moist and the skin can be sensitive and tender so when groin skin tags appear they can be easily irritated, chafed or infected. Skin tags in the groin area may even be injured and bleed. They have their own blood supply that enables them to grow and they can be injured during lovemaking or when rubbed against underwear or perhaps from friction during sport or exercise. This is especially so when they appear on the shaft of the penis or around the scrotum.
When skin tags occur on the left or right groin, they often look just like unwanted skin and are not all that noticeable. However, it is those skin tags that occur on the penis – particularly the head of the penis – which can cause embarrassment and concern to both the owner and his sexual partner. Groin skin tags can even occur on the circumcision line because of the uneven removal of skin when the owner of the penis was circumcised.
So it is usually a good idea where there are skin tags in the groin area, and particularly on the penis itself, to have them removed both for reasons of comfort and to avoid any anxiety for your sexual partner.
There are four good methods to use when dealing with the removal of skin tags in the groin area:
Small groin skin tags can be removed by excision in your doctor’s surgery after a local anesthetic has been given. There may be some pain and scarring afterwards.
Small groin skin tags can be frozen off with liquid nitrogen in a procedure called cryotherapy. They will fall off after about a week. If the groin skin tags are larger, it may take more than one session. Your doctor may use a local anesthetic to dull any pain.
Groin skin tags can also be removed by ligation where thread is tied around the base of the skin tags thereby depriving them of a blood supply so that they dry up and also fall off. You may feel that this method is a bit untidy and unhygienic.
Both small and larger skin tags can be treated with a natural healing product which uses pure essential oils. This is can be done in the privacy of your own home and after applying treatment for 2 to 6 weeks, your skin tags will be removed without any pain or scarring.
There are some reasons why some people are more prone to developing skin tags (including groin skin tags) and these are:
Increasing age in both men and women
Pregnancy
Obesity or overweight
The presence of diabetes type 2
Insulin rejection
The use of illegal steroids
Anal fissures or hemorrhoids in the case of anal skin tags
Some medical insurance companies will even cover the cost of the removal of skin tags in the groin area as these can grow larger and be painful so this is worth investigating.
